What is wire drawing?
It is an operation of reducing the section of a wire, this goes through a cone-shaped hole that is processed in different time of materials that are used to form through the wire drawing process.
In other words, wire drawing is when a cold wire is stretched and can be done with copper wires, steel, brass or any other ductile metal or alloy. Using carbon or tungsten dies or wire drawers, materials much stronger and more resistant than the material to be worked on, a certain hardness is given to the material, which substantially improves the quality and possibilities of its mechanical characteristics.

The reduction, stretching or wire drawing can be performed for different factors, such as the diameter of the bars that are going to work and their length, improving the finishes or making it fit in a certain place. For example, when we have bars 15 mm wide, a wire drawing treatment is usually given to improve surface finishes or to reduce them by up to 50%.
