1. Introduction
In the steel and rolled metal industry, "precision strip" refers to those materials that, due to the industry and operating conditions in the final application, need to be produced in dimensions, tolerances, mechanical properties, and finishes that are not regularly and commercially available in the market because they are extremely thin and/or narrow.

2. Definition: dimensions and tolerances
According to Ulbrinox's production capabilities, we can define "precision strip" as those materials or alloys produced in the following width and thickness ranges and with the indicated tolerances:
Width: 0.508 mm to 356 mm (0.020" to 14")
Width tolerance: (standard): +/- 0.0127 mm (+/- 0.005")
Thickness: 0.0075 mm to 0.30 mm (0.0003" to 0.0118")
Thickness tolerance:
standard: +/- 5 %
extreme: +/- 1 %

3.5 Niobium
Niobium offers true reliability
Niobium is used for the manufacture of high-temperature items and products, such as jewelry, medical equipment, in addition to having a nuclear "reactor grade", which means it has a very high melting point. Due to its unique physical properties, it is an extremely valuable resource for different industries.

4. Surface finishes and mechanical properties.
Ulbrich's rolling mills, annealing processes, and finishing equipment allow Ulbrinox to offer the following ranges of surface finishes and mechanical properties.

From bright finish to dull or matte finish (10 nanometers or 60 microinches)

Vary from materials for deep drawing, for coining, and materials with different degrees of hardening up to "extra full hard", according to our customers' needs.
Camber:
At the customer's request, we have tighter Camber tolerances available than the commercial tolerances described here.
For strips with widths less than or equal to 38.1 mm (1.5"): 13 mm in 2.5 m (0.5 "in 8')
Flatness:
The standard flatness is 0.020” PIW but we offer critical flatness of 0.010” PIW
